Good day family and friends,
And Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms! Today, my one full day in London, was spent simply wandering about and re-acquainting myself with the city. And so it seemed on a sunny but cool day that in addition to all us tourists quite a few of the locals were also out and about doing the same. Lots of jostling to get through crowds but everyone enjoying themselves and being quite polite about it – the British way.

My Grandson Ollie requested photos of transportation modes in London, especially choo-choo trains, via a comment on yesterday’s post. A bit of serendipity, as the closest landmark to my hotel is Victoria Station where transportation, especially of the tracked variety, abounds.
Outside the station there is no shortage of transportation either. That most unique of London transport, the double decker bus, is along with the black taxi, a never ending site about London.

And then there are the more traditional modes of transportation in London. The first being practiced that day by thousands, including this traveler – that of the by-foot variety. The second, but mostly limited to those with dashing but more than likely very uncomfortable attire – that of the equine variety.
That’s it for now. Please have a look at the gallery below for full-size versions of the photos above as well as some photos of the street performers. Have more photos and even some videos but have been encountering camera/computer connectivity issues.
Tomorrow it is onto Espana and its capital of Madrid.
Until later,
